Most of us will experience bereavement at some point during our working lives. However when bereavement occurs in the workplace, whether within an office environment, residential or nursing home, everyone around may be affected.
Grief can enter through many doors, through loss of a resident but also the loss of someone close to a key employee or to the member of the team, or indeed the loss of someone within the team.
This course explores physical and emotional stress following loss and examines the grieving process, the difference between ‘normal’ and ‘abnormal’ grieving, and seeks to better equip participants to understand the process of grief, and know what to say to help those who have been bereaved.
It will help those involved to manoeuvre safely through the minefield of human emotions that can threaten to disrupt the most professional of workplaces.
